What If Verse Rules Empty
PostSubject: What If Verse Rules   What If Verse Rules EmptyFri Jul 23, 2010 1:48 am

    1. Mary Sues. Please run your character through The Mary Sue Test before posting your profile. The score must be under 40. The score does not have to be posted, as it will probably change as you play, but scores may be called into question at any time.

Should a score be called into question, both an admin and the character's Creator will be asked to take the test for the character. The two scores will be averaged, and the resulting score MUST be under 40. If the score is over 40, the Creator will be asked to severely downsize his or her character's powers until they reach the Under 40 mark.

For comparison, three characters were run through the test and received scores of 22, 23 & 24, respectively. Having a character under forty is not hard.

    2. Muses. This board is for muses, or characters from a story that you have written, plan to write, or are writing. The characters on this board are often referred to as muses. If you wish to jump in with no backstory at all, that's okay, too! We just ask that your characters don't claim to be the REAL Bill, the REAL Jonne, the REAL Tom...if you get my drift. Whether they freak out from meeting themselves or whatever other reactions incur, please don't claim to be the ONE AND ONLY of someone. That's what the bandverse board is for ;D

    3. Death & Healing. Generally speaking, death is up to the creator. You need to ask before you kill (or even harm!) another person's character. Once that permission is given and death/torture ensues, there are a few rules, to make it fair to everyone:
  • It is up to the Creator's discretion whether or not the muse can come back to life, or get healed.
  • Muses must stay dead for 24 hours once killed.
  • When hurt, muses must stay injured/in pain for 2 hours before being completely healed. Minor healing to make sure they don't die is permitted.

    4. Fighting. Often, verbal fights can become physical ones. We ask that authors communicate on what they want to happen between the characters. As a 'default' plan, however, there is a system for dueling characters against each other.
  • Each person rolls a dice. The higher number wins, no exceptions. If there is a tie, you have to roll again. There is a roll dice feature both on the forum and on Chatzy.
  • The die needs to be rolled twice for each action. The attacking player rolls first, then the defending player rolls. If the attacking player has a higher score, the hit counts. If the defending score is higher, the attacker misses and it doesn't count.

4b. Auto-hits. Autohitting is when a character is attacking another character and ASSUMES to have hit them without the other characters response being considered. Example: "*Murdock swings his sword through the air and slices Forcen's guts open like he was splitting a ripe melon."
Auto-hitting is a privilege, not a right. You can purchase auto-hits on the Shop board with guitar picks you have earned by posting. If you Auto-hit without first purchasing one (and gaining confirmation that your purchase is completed), you will be docked guitar picks.

    5. Communicate. You'd think this is obvious, but some people, you know...Basically, talk to whoever you're roleplaying with. If you're planning something that involves someone's character, TALK to them about it. The LAST thing anyone should have to worry about is whether or not someone's trying to gang up on their character.

    6. Pregnancy. Whether or not your character can build children, of course, depends on the story he or she is from (yes, I just said 'he'; it's called mpreg). If your character can not get pregnant in the story, yet you want them pregnant in the roleplay, there are a few options.
  • Daisy Slime: An aphrodisiacal substance secreted by the alien octopus Daisy, it allows one to form a uterus (and eggs), and become pregnant. The term is 10 weeks real time. The symptoms are the same as a 40-week human pregnancy, including the option of natural birth (even if the 'mother' is male). In rare cases, the babies could be alien octopuses, as well. This only works one time; once the baby is born, the uterus disappears.
  • Daisy's Lubricated Condoms: Condoms made with Daisy Slime (in which case there needs to be intercourse without a condom afterwards for conception)
  • Surgery: If your character has this surgery, they may have a uterus & eggs implanted permanently in their body. The drawbacks to this include the constant need for condoms when they don't want to get pregnant and the recovery time from surgery (2 days).

    7. Mature posts. Mature posts (those that have a rating of NC-17, involving explicit and/or graphic sex) should be marked clearly in the Topic Title.

    8. Characters. Each player may play up to five characters in What If Verse. This does not have anything to do with the other boards. If you wish to purchase more characters to play, you may do this on the Shop board with guitar picks you have collected from posting.

    9. Profiles. A profile must be submitted before you may begin to play. Under the heading 'Orange:', you MUST write 'I have read and agree to the Rules.' Profiles should be written as completely as possible to get a good feel for your character.
